Congratulations on the opening of the new Winterhalter office in Malaysia! Taking a space of 19,000 sqft, the new Winterhalter office in Glenmarie, Malaysia, has become the new regional hub for the South East Asia (SEA) region operations. With future expansion in mind, the new large office is established in an industrial area in Glenmarie with a bigger warehousing capacity and other facilities, dedicated to serving clients and customers better.
A REGIONAL HUB
The new office currently houses a total of 37 staff in various divisions, namely, Malaysia’s local administration team, functioning sales team, sales support team, finance department, technical department, warehousing, chemical division, and the SEA regional team. The SEA regional team that has been supporting the sales and marketing affairs for the entire SEA region including Taiwan and the Philippines will be based in the new location.
Joachim Dandja, the Managing Director of SEA was certainly having a mix of nostalgia and satisfaction with the expansion. During the new office launch in Glenmarie on the 12th March, 2019, he noted, “It seems only yesterday that I came to Winterhalter Southeast Asia, coming from Winterhalter Dubai. Now I can’t help but realize that 9 years has passed. Back then, Winterhalter had 3 subsidiaries in the region which were Winterhalter Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia. And in the following years we opened Winterhalter Singapore and Thailand. Winterhalter Philippines came into operation in the middle in 2017. I am very happy with our achievements so far.”
A CENTRAL CONVENIENCE
This property was procured for its centralised location and functional spaces. All spaces are designed with function and practicality in mind to serve the Winterhalter team and clients in a more timely and efficient way. In fact, the location is easily accessible to clients and business audience who are located in Klang valley and the city centre in Kuala Lumpur.
With the office space comes a fully equipped warehouse for equipment and parts; workshops for machine testing and refurbishment; four meeting rooms; a chemical laboratory; and training facilities that can accommodate up to 100 people. With sufficient seating capacity in the training centre, more product training, technical training, and chemical training can be conducted effectively. The showroom is another highlight of the new location that facilitates product demonstration to customers, comprising of both washing performance and technical topics.
During the new office opening, the new range of Winterhalter rack conveyor, C50, also came into display. Another good news that came along was Winterhalter’s first branch in Johor Bahru has been operational since January this year.
Karen Fong, the Managing Director of Winterhalter Malaysia for Malaysia will be overseeing the new office. The hub will also include Sean Moore, the Regional Director of SEA; and Gary Tan, the Regional Sales Director of SEA.
“The commitment from Winterhalter Malaysia is that we will continue to build our team and improve our service structure with the goal for customers and partners to enjoy the benefit of Winterhalter solution to its fullest,” Karen said, while giving her opening speech.
As 2019 marks the 14th year of Winterhalter Malaysia since its incorporation in 2005, we are excited to see what’s coming up this year and in years to come!
