Malaysia’s only independent radio station for businesscentric discourse and current affairs recently organised its inaugural Enterprise Takeaway conferences. With the love for food driving many to business ownership, the one-day conference aimed to equip participants with the knowledge to star t and manage a food business. It featured sharing of experiences from some of the biggest names in the foodservice industry on topics like market understanding, choosing a concept, service excellence, marketing strategies, technology adoption and surviving the competition. Speakers included Emmanuel Stroobant, Anabelle Co-Martinent (La Juiceria), Noreen Ramli (Curbside Cantina), Darren Teoh (Dewakan), Michele Kwok, (Souled Out), Christian Bauer (Troika Sky Dining), Andrew Roach Reddy (Chaswood Group), Maxis Berhad, Lionel Lau (Millennium Associates), Gaik Wong, (The Chicken Rice Shop), Datuk Abdul Malik Abdullah (D‘Tandoor Food Industries S/B), Rina Abdullah(The Serai Group) Cameron Cheah (Sushi Tei Malaysia) and Benjamin Yong (The Big Group). Aside from listening to and meeting some of the esteemed speakers, we met and shared with some of the 700 participants on the reason for Mise En Place magazine, much to good responses. With both BFM and Mise En Place’s eyes firmly on the business track, it was certainly a partnership that could expand to greater possibilities for the foodservice industry!
