FHC_03Its status as one of the most populous nations of the world means the ever-present opportunities for companies to showcase their business propositions. Which is what FHC 2013 was to these players – the platform to shine as the exhibition is widely regarded to attract quality exhibitors and visitors that are most relevant. In its 17th edition that took place in November 2013, 1,820 companies from 70 countries exhibited and the show registered almost 34,000 visitors in its three days.

Commercial kitchens thrive on equipment and there was no lack of it. Together with major equipment manufacturers, the exhibition allocated more space for the beverage industry. The surge of interest in tea and coffee led to many companies exhibiting ingredients and equipment for roasting, brewing and serving. It was further heightened with champion baristas from Russia, USA and China competing to create the best caffeine beverages. The trend for gelato is also on the rise as ingredient and equipment suppliers were provided its own area for visitors’ ease of access.

FHC_02It was evident that FHC was China’s most important event for imported foods as VIPs from around the world came to support the show. Ministers and leaders from Denmark, United Kingdom, Brazil, USA joined their China counterparts for various activities during the period of the exhibition. And Ms Bozena Wroblewska, Polish Chamber of Commerce sums it up with “FHC China really has the quality, professional buyers attending which companies don’t see anywhere else in China”. Food products came from diverse geographics such as Australia, USA, Thailand, Denmark, India, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Singapore and France, to name a few.

FHC_01The rise of wine-and-dine led to the dedicated show ProWine China that ran alongside FHC. Organised by Messe Düsseldorf and China International Exhibitions, the show was the place to be for 570 wine producers and distributors from 30 countries. There was also numerous master wine classes that the over 7,000 buyers could attend to enrich their knowledge. There was also a China Sommeliers Wine and Spirits Challenge – a blind tasting competition with judges being Chinese sommeliers in 5-star hotels throughout the country. In keeping with tradition, the International Culinary Arts Competition returned strong with 350 chefs competing in the 15 categories as endorsed by the World Association of Chef Societies (WACS).

The success of FHC 2013 paves the way for FHC and ProWine China 2014 to be held in November 2014 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre. For more nformation, visit www.chinaallworld.com or contact:
