Following its previous success, the Food Hotel Tourism Bali 2014 exhibition returned to Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre where streams of cars ferrying visitors to the show was a daily sight as it experienced an increase in all areas from visitors to number of exhibitors. Total trade attendees this year charted 10,089, a strong 44% increase compared to the show held 2 years ago. Exhibiting companies have also seen a huge increase from 492 companies to 870 at this year’s show from more than 40 countries spread across a space of 10,290m2.

P.T. Pamerindo, the organising company, an Allworld Exhibitions member shared that “the show has well surpassed its previous achievements in retaining yet again the stature of East Indonesia’s largest ever food, hospitality, retail and tourism exhibition.” Supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Bali Culinary Professionals (BCP) and Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI), the show also hosted an exciting series of professional competitions, workshops and seminars.

670 competitors battled it out for 25 categories in the Salon Culinaire chef competition organised by Bali Culinary professionals over the 3 days during the show. An array of pastries displayed, culinary skills from basics, cooking to plating saw participants hard at work throughout the 3 days. Meanwhile, baristas had a chance to showcase their talents in 2 other competitions that was held concurrently – the Indonesia Latte Art Championship (ILAC) with 24 competitors and the Indonesia Cup Tasters Championship (ICTC) with 32 competitors. The SCAI – organised event had coffee scents filling the air as the finalists brewed their best for the rights to represent Indonesia at the World Barista Championship in Melbourne.

In the halls, it was a hive of activity with visitors being invited to taste the wide range of locally manufactured food products. With flair, style, and the smell of delicious food, chefs attracted the crowd to their booth to experience and understand the technology of multitude equipment on display.

The show will be back again in 15 -18 April 2015, this time in the capital city and hosted by the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran.
