halton2Located at Subang Hi-Tech Industrial Park, the blue signage of Halton is a prominent sight with its facility built on higher ground. The importance of clean air in indoor environments is the backbone of the Halton Group and its focus on creating comfortable and safe climates within various industries continues as reflected by its new and larger manufacturing facility in Malaysia. November 29th 2013 was the day of its inauguration as associates and guests, including the Finnish Ambassador in Malaysia, Matti Pullinen, filled the hall and were entertained with cultural dances before Halton’s Group Chairman of the Board, Mika Halttunen took the stage with his speech on this decision of moving the company forward. Measuring 5000 sq. meters and with a workforce of 100 people, the Chairman said the new facilities will increase production capacity and product offering. To further boost efficiency and co-ordination, the customer service division is also consolidated together with production while the brand new R&D center, opened in March 2013 is also located in the same premises. Guests were taken on a factory tour which is fitted with the ability to support extensive manufacturing for its main markets which include India, Japan, Korea, Middle-East, New Zealand and Oceania while 10% of its customers are located in Malaysia. Some of its important projects around Asia include Singapore’s Sport Hub and Mandarin Oriental, India’s Taj Mahal, Indonesia’s Sofitel Nusa Dua Bali, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, Jumeirah Beach Resort Dubai in the UAE and Solaire Manila in the Philippines.

halton3The Finnish company has operations in 29 countries with Asia playing a central role in its target of being present in the emerging markets and the Malaysia office and manufacturing facility has been leading the efforts since 1996. Today, there is increasing demand for production which leads to higher levels of pollutants contributing to unhealthy air. Moreover, industries are looking for energy-efficient solutions for a sustainable life cycle in their working environment. Specialising in products for air diffusion, air-flow management, fire safety, kitchen ventilation and indoor environment management, the bigger and fully equipped facility is a timely one for the company “foresees this region to be a growth market for decades to come”, said Olli Sipilä, Director for Halton Group Asia.
