A PERFORMANCE TO WATCH IN THE WAREWASHING ARENA
Calling it “Performance of the Year”, it was indeed a different experience in product launches as guests were taken through the journey of Winterhalter’s latest PT Series professional warewashers. Held over 4 days; dealers, end users and consultants from the South East Asia region converged in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. Following Mr. Joachim Dandja, Managing Director (SEA)’s keynote, the launch was officiated and guests had an insight to the philosophy of Winterhalter in developing the PT Series via a video presentation in 3D. This was followed up by a step-by-step explanation of its three simple but strong characteristics – brilliant, fast, efficient. The PT Series consists of the essential PT 500 model and the premium PT-M, PT-L and PT-XL models that offer a bigger capacity and more flexibility for adjustments.
Its VarioPower feature has the brilliance of setting the correct water pressure to suit the items placed for washing and the degree of soiling. As the elliptical wash fields handles items with care, elements such as temperature, time, detergent and rinse aid are automatically adjusted. Coupled with the new full-flow filtration system in the PT-M, PT-L and PT-XL, 100% of the wash water goes into a filter with the assistance of Mediamat – effective in trapping finer impurities and with a clouding sensor, operators can look for ward to extending the life cycle of tank water and reducing running costs without compromising a good quality wash.
In terms of being fast, we witnessed the speed of the PT-M in cleaning a rack of soiled plates and glasses – completed in just a little over 1 minute! An engineering achievement, it is the first time that the pass-through dishwashers are equipped with an active energy management system to optimally distribute available energy and cut down the duration of each wash cycle. Winterhalter has also made in-roads as the first manufacturer to offer a heat recovery system as a standard feature in its PT
Series known as EnergyLight which uses heat from waste water to heat up cold inlet water to reduce heating times; enabling the cleaning of up to 77 racks per hour.
Efficient means the minimal use of energy and resource, reflected though the EnergyLight waste water heat exchanger that reduces energy cost of up to 10% while the EnergyPlus is an option to equip the warewasher with an exhaust air heat recovery system that can reduce operating costs of up to 20% per wash cycle. To further maximise efficiency, users can choose to fit in the magnet-driven rinsing system on either PT-L or PT-XL models to facilitate minimal water consumption as well as useless detergent, rinse aid and energy. The combination of EnergyPlus and magnet-driven rinsing system is able to relieve operating costs by up to 32%.
User friendliness is definitely a factor and it is reflected through a touchscreen panel or LCD control panel (PT 500). Noting the range of wares possibly used by an establishment, the PT Series comes with three standard programs and configurable special programs for the washing of bistro wares, dishes, glasses or cutlery. A step up from its previous UC Series, Winterhalter once again raises the level of the playing field in the professional warewashing segment.
